EIA Global 2021 is officially over, and we are proud to share the program’s outcome and learnings with you!

 2020 brought remarkable changes to the education industry, and the pandemic closed doors for all the people around the World. Students lost the opportunity to travel, study abroad and meet new people.

European Innovation Academy decided that educating the next generation of founders has to continue despite the difficult times. With the help from our great partners, Cascais municipality, NOVA School of Business and Economics, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Santander Universidades and BETA-i, a new level in entrepreneurship education was established – EIA Global 2021.

 EIA Global is the World’s first virtual entrepreneurship program that brought students together for three weeks from all around the world to start with their own venture.

 EIA brought together 350 students who worked out 70 new start-ups. Students came from 60 different countries and 40 universities worldwide, including UC Berkeley, Michigan University etc.

Students went through a 15 days journey to get to the finish line. Students started with establishing an international team and coming up with a unique idea. They had to build a prototype and first marketing campaign to launch their product on the global market. At the end of the program, students had to face the investors. Out of 70 teams, 3 best teams are selected eligible for the prizes given by prestigious accelerators (Alchemist Accelerator, HAG Group).

 We are thankful to our great partners – Cascais municipality, NOVA School of Business and Economics, Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, Santander Universidades and BETA-i, who helped make the  EIA Global program happen and allowed Portuguese students to join EIA this summer. EIA Partners from Portugal shared their inspirational words with students on the last day. Even though the program took place virtually, Cascais has showcased students as their virtual host destination.
