Funding

How students pay for it

Most European students have never paid tuition, and few will pay for a summer course themselves. Cohorts that work combine two or three of these.

  • Erasmus+ mobility

    about €700

Short-term mobility support per student, toward travel and stay. Your international office applies.

  • Faculty and university budgets

    you decide

Internationalisation, innovation and employability budgets often cover tuition for a credit-bearing course.

  • Company sponsors

    per seat or per team

Local companies sponsor seats in exchange for a first look at the ventures. EIA gives you a sponsor pack to send.

  • EEA and Norway Grants, foundations

    from 20 students

For cohorts of 20 or more, EIA's grants team helps you find the call and write the application.

One student, three sources

An example. Every cohort's mix is different, and EIA plans it with you on the first call.

Students who don't see themselves as founders

  • No startup idea needed. Teams form online before the course.
  • London is one week on site, which keeps travel and stay costs low.
  • Employers read it as teamwork, sales and product experience, not only as a startup.

Europe

Built for European approval

What your faculty board and international office will ask about.

  • 6 ECTS

Syllabus, rubrics and 8 to 10 contact hours a day, with outcomes mapped to the EU's EntreComp framework. Your faculty confirms the credit.

  • Fits Erasmus+ mobility

An online pre-week, then on-site weeks. Your international office can fund travel and stay.

  • No visa inside the EU

Portugal and Italy need nothing for EU citizens. The UK asks for an ETA, which we confirm per cohort.

  • Invoiced in euros

One EUR invoice to the university, GDPR-compliant data handling, contract in English.

How this is calculated

Every coefficient, for your finance office.

  • Investment is tuition times the number of students, whoever pays it.
  • All figures are set at a 20-student cohort, then scaled by (ln n / ln 20) to the power 1.5 for euro values and 1.2 for applications and ranking.
  • At 20 students, funding and partner value is 8 times the investment and media value is 2.5 times. Funding covers Erasmus+, sponsors, grants and company ties the cohort brings in.
  • At 20 students, international applications rise 18% and ranking 10 positions.
  • The €10,000 grant counts from 20 students.
  • The default €1,999 is the current fee. Get a written quote before budgeting.
  • Based on EIA alumni and partner outcomes since 2012. Results vary.

Modeled projections, not a guarantee.

Faculty questions

How many ECTS do students earn?

Usually 6 ECTS. Your faculty decides, and we send the syllabus, workload hours and rubrics it needs.

Do I have to spend my summer abroad?

No. EIA staff run the days on site. You can lead and grade from home, fly in for pitch night only, or teach on site. London needs only one week on site.

Our students have never paid tuition. Who pays?

Most cohorts mix sources. Erasmus+ short-term mobility usually gives about €700 per student toward travel and stay. The rest comes from faculty or internationalisation budgets, a company sponsor or a grant. From 20 students EIA helps you apply for EEA and Norway Grants and foundation funding.

How does the €10,000 grant work?

Bring 20 students and it is paid to you in euros, for research time, AI tools or a research assistant. You get the terms in writing first.

Can I publish research on my cohort?

Yes. You can add questions to EIA's pre and post surveys, use anonymised data under GDPR and co-author with the EIA research team.

My students are not very entrepreneurial. Is that a problem?

No. Most EIA students have never started anything. No idea is needed, teams form in the online pre-week, and in one study founding intent went from 0% to 58% among students with no startup experience.

Which city should we choose?

Lisbon is fully on site. Rome is two weeks on site, then one online. London is one week on site, then two online, so it costs students the least in travel and stay. Credit and price are the same.

What does it cost?

€1,999 to €2,499 per student, depending on when you book. Invoiced in euros to the university.

I'm a student. Can I attend?

Yes. Ask your professor to contact us, or email info@inacademy.eu.
